New Solution & Service Offerings for 2020
2020 is going to be an epic year for all of us!
In December, we presented a webinar called Unwrapping the Future to unveil our new solution and service offerings and many expressed an interest in the opportunity to improve their business processes beyond the digital transformation steps.
In addition to our other content services and public records request solution, our business process automation toolbox now includes intelligent automation components and cloud services:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Machine Learning (ML)
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
- Managed Cloud (MSP)
What Is Intelligent Automation (IA)?
Vik Renjen, Forbes Council Member, wrote that “intelligent automation is a more advanced form of what is commonly known as robotic process automation (RPA).
It is essentially a software that mimics the behavior of an end-user by using existing enterprise application screens or web pages to find, evaluate, cut, calculate, transform and enter data into existing, enterprise application fields according to business rules.
This technology is ideal for many insurance processes, particularly those that are labor-intensive, such as new business applications handling, policy change administration, claims set-up and various finance and accounting activities. Any large-scale activities or groups of repetitive tasks that draw on or feed information to multiple systems is an intelligent automation candidate.
Because of its transformative nature, intelligent automation gives insurers a competitive advantage through lower-cost scalability, nimbleness by redeploying personnel to higher-value work and an enhanced, customer-friendly brand image and relevance.”1
Each of the tools that comprise Intelligent Automation can be combined with other solutions, like Laserfiche, or they may stand alone. Read more about the history of Accounts Payable Automation to see more about how each element plays a role in IA. We discovered through existing projects that our clients had needs where IA could fill in the gaps, especially with back-office tasks. Adding intelligent automation tools was a natural progression for MCCi in our search for new, strategic solution offerings.
Now that you have a better understanding of the overarching concept of IA, we’ll break down each component for you and share more about the solutions and services we chose for 2020 and beyond.
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans.2 We partnered with ABBYY, specializing in document capture and optical character recognition, to offer AI in our solutions toolbox.
ABBYY FlexiCapture is an Accounts Payable Automation tool that makes an impact on the bottom line for Finance Departments, shoring up mundane tasks and allowing their accounting staff to make room for more strategic projects. ABBYY incorporates artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and robotic process automation (RPA) – we will share more about that in the next section. We received an overwhelming interest in 2019 and continue to develop client success stories to share the benefits of adding AP automation to organizations. Check out our latest client story about how the City of Coppell incorporated the solution in their organization.

What is Robotic Process Automation (RPA)?
Robotic Process Automation Software was created with the purpose of reducing the cost and errors experienced in a vast majority of back-office operations and service centers.
These activities and tasks involve people performing mundane and repetitive tasks that if properly mapped out, can be replicated by what is known as a software robot, bot or digital worker.
RPA allows for a wide variety of tasks to be executed in a highly predictable fashion, automatically, by its digital bot.
Additionally, in case of an increase in the number of tasks or a wide variety of processes needing automation, organizations have the option of deploying additional robots.
From a process perspective, RPA is suitable for structured and semi-structured processes involving a wide range of functions.
A few of the more common activities that are drivers in the need for RPA:
- Entering or extracting data from multiple systems
- Repeating data entry (entering the same data into more than one system/location)
- Collating of and searching for data in spreadsheets
- Reconciling, comparing and matching data
- Repeating rules-based processes
- Making decisions can also be handled for simplistic or low-complexity scenarios via rules engines or algorithms
We chose Blue Prism, the pioneer and market leader for Robotic Process Automation. Incorporating Blue Prism into our solution offerings to bring bots to our clients’ organizations will unleash the power of human potential!
We are most excited about our client pilot projects to show how RPA improved their processes. Stay tuned for those client success stories, coming soon!

Cloud Service Provider
We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure platform for our clients that meets or exceeds industry best practices, that’s why we are happy to announce that we are now a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
MCCi and our clients’ data are hosted securely on the Microsoft Azure Government Cloud which meets the CJIS, HIPPA, FedRAMP and other regulatory requirements. A CISSP, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, is on staff as well.
MCCi’s Managed Cloud Services for content and intelligent automation solutions allows us to add value by being an all-in-one resource to our clients. Hosting the infrastructure of Laserfiche, Blue Prism, and ABBYY for our clients allows them the freedom of not having to manage multiple vendors and relationships for already existing solutions.
