Senior Accountant

MCCi is an IT services company with expertise in delivering end-to-end Content Services and Intelligent Automation solutions. We provide our clients some of the leading hyperautomation technologies, including Laserfiche for content services, Blue Prism for robotic process automation, ABBYY for intelligent capture, and One Span for digital signatures.

We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Corporate Accounting team. We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual with excellent accounting knowledge as well as strong analytical and communication skills. This role will report to the Controller and will focus primarily on facilitating the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and analyses for the related balance sheet accounts, and assisting with the coordination of our audits. The Senior Accountant will also support the Accounting department by contributing to the accurate and timely reporting of financial results to our internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate accounting functions and programs with appropriate team members
  • Assist in month-end close process including but not limited to preparing detailed account analysis, preparing reports necessary for validating general ledger balances, preparing journal entries, ensuring data is properly recorded to provide accurate costing of departmental activities
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with annual audit preparations
  • Assist with financial analysis and reporting as needed
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Collaborate with Payroll Processing Department on Commissions, Variable Comp, and Year-End reporting
  • Work with Controller to ensure compliance with all tax obligations.
  • Perform other accounting duties and provide support to staff as needed
  • Report to Controller, as well as work closely with department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity
  • Be a team player within the Finance Department
  • Post and pay invoices for specific vendor groups acting as liaison between the vendor and internal operations teams
  • Support Controller with revenue recognition, including managing deferred revenue schedules, and reviewing project set up
  • Assist Accounting Manager with Accounts Payable automation initiative, and continued vendor relationships
  • Cross Train with all areas of the Accounting Team during onboarding, and provide ongoing backup and support as needed
  • Provide analysis of GL accounts and make recommendations for reduced spending or greater efficiencies
  • Exhibit a commitment to collaboration and solution-oriented thinking to achieve success in all areas of the department

What you’ll need to be successful

  •  REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • REQUIRED: CPA
  • 5+ years experience (public accounting and revenue recognition preferred)
  • Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure
  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • High integrity, comfortable dealing with sensitive & confidential data
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines and schedules
