Lead Web Developer

GovBuilt is best known for its refreshing approach to government websites and as a robust and easy-to-use case management solution for permitting, licensing, inspections, code enforcement, and many other governmental use cases. We are looking for a Lead Web Developer to join the GovBuilt solutions team. This position is responsible for reviewing and evaluating all team output and ensuring that all work adheres to standards and best practices while maintaining a high degree of quality. This position works closely with the Director of Development to assist in defining and understanding standards and best practices. Responsible for providing maintenance and support to existing code following standards and best code practices and requires the ability to abstract requirements for innovative solutions to enhance products within our environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and plan applications to meet project objectives
  • Responsible for creating, developing and updating coding standards used
  • Create requirements that can be easily analyzed and abstracted by others
  • Work closely with all team members to ensure high-quality efficient output while meeting the needs of the project
  • Abstract requirements to analyze and design innovative new software solutions
  • Develop code using best practices and current software patterns
  • Read, understand and debug products code to find and solve current software problems
  • Ensure code is testable with corresponding unit tests
  • Test software solutions appropriately before delivery to the testing team
  • Mentor and train other developers
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure client needs are met

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in MVC, C#
  • At least 5 years of experience in SQL Server
  • At least 5 years of experience in JavaScript, JQuery, JSON
  • At least 3 years on Orchard Core or similar Web Frameworks
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of writing testable code
  • At least 5 years of experience in source control management
